Healthy & Homemade Granola Bars

Happy Monday everyone. This will be a short & sweet post as I have a massive pile of work to do today.

I made these yesterday as an updated version of an older recipe. This recipe has less ingredients which I think prevents people from taking a healthy recipe and transforming it into an unhealthy version of itself. These are great as a quick bite or a post workout snack when you have worked those muscles hard.


1 cup of rolled oats

1 cup almonds, finely chopped & toasted

1 cup of mixed seeds: pumpkin, sunflower, flax seeds, go heavy on the flax, SO good for you (or whatever your heart desires)

1/4 cup (60-70%) dark chocolate chips (if you want to omit this, add cranberries instead or raisins)

1/2 cup light agave nectar

1/4 peanut butter (or almond butter)

1 tsp. vanilla


Preheat oven to 350.

Real simple: throw it all in a bowl and mix.

Line a pan with parchment paper and press your granola mixture into it.

Bake for 12-15 minutes, 12 worked perfectly for me.

Bake. Bite. Enjoy.
